Trip to the ER!

Usually, when the whole family gets sick, mami is the only who stays healthy and takes care of everyone. Well, last night after dinner, I took a turn for the worst. Short post but wanted to share and document.

It's no secret taht I hate doctors, not because I hate medicine, but because they rarley get to the root of the problem. I'm all about prevention. I'm sure it has to do with my fathers story. He was in so much pain for so long and 8 days before he past, he was finally diagnosed with cancer.

So, two days ago I had pain in my hip and down my leg, but I was able to sleep. It woke me up once and went to the potty. The next day, I was fine during the day and then pain was in and out for the rest of the day. I also had cold symptoms, stuffy nose, coughing and sneezing. Then when I got up to sweep and get ready to get ready to take a shower the pain got very bad. I was bent over and after I got out, I realized I didn't wash my hair! lol So, I went to go lay down in bed and I knew I was not going to go to bed, I knew it. Pain was like at a 8. Almost as bad as when my water broke!! yeah, that bad. So hubby came and asked if it was time to go to the hospital and at first I said no, but then like 5 minutes later I called him back into the bedroom and said, "Yes, let's go!"

It was 2am... we didn't live till 5:30am! Not too bad. While in the hospital, I'm glad my pain went away, but then it came back with a vengeance and made me throw-up! Gross. I hate vomiting! The doctor was already going to take me home, but then asked if there was history of galstones and I said, no, but there is with Kidney stones, my dad had them twice. So I was sent for a CT scan of my abdomen and sure enough....

Two Kidney stones, one in each kidney, an ovarian cyst in my left ovary and a viral infection! Oh joy! I went in with one problem and walked out with four diagnosis and NO MEDS!

So, now I'm here sitting on my couch, in pain, and just having to wait it out. Obviously I have to go see my reg doctor or OBGYN to deal with the cyst, but focusing on the darn stones first. Any tips? I was reading, now I need to stay away from healthy food?! lol Drink lots of water and rest. How fun, right?! I guess I'll be doing lots of crocheting this weekend.

I had plans, everything is on hold, the house is a mess and it won't be fun. Hopefully they pass by Monday, MLK day!

PRAY FOR ME!

  1. Ugh! Stones are brutal, they gave me Flomax, and some pain pills. I drank tons of cranberry juice and felt back to myself in no time. Hope you feel better soon.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
