MPM - Daddy Dinners - 1/19/15

Happy Martin Luther King Day!! How are you celebrating... i'm sitting on my rocking chair, bundled up and watching Mikey Mouse, lol. Well, mama is still sick and Eliada didn't have school today, lol. I had plans, but since I went to the ER, I've felt horrible! I wanted to go help with a clean up and later this evening there is an event in downtown McAllen, 5th Annual MLK Day at El Cine del Rey. Anywho, so this weeks menu is brought to you by hubby! I'll probably cook dinner once, besides heating up some soup. Pray for me, lol. But seriously, when my kidney stones move, i'm curled up in the fetal position.

Breakfast: Oatmeal, fruit, smoothie, biscuits
Lunch: Soup, Salad, Fruit, crackers

Monday: Chicken stir-fry (didn't have it last week)

Tuesday: Chicken Soup with rice

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Sandwiches

Friday: Pizza

Yeah, I'm making him make the stir-fry cus I bought zucchini last week, lol other than that, he says he's just going to HEB to get what he needs for that day, ugh. MEN! I can get up and make dinner, but when I walk around too much, I pay for it later that day. It sucks!

Oh and I've been eating a lot of fruit with high water content, to help with the kidney stones, and smoothies. I'm gonna try out this recipe (I pinned it on my pinterest, "Recipes to Try" board and here's the link to Budget Bites if you want to check it out, how to make smoothie packs!

  2. Mmm! Great menu! I am majorly craving some chicken soup! My entire family is sick so I'm thinking of making some today :) Hopefully I can convince my toddler that soup is tasty as that's still not something he's sold on haha. And I also have a major pizza craving now!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
