Menu Plan Monday: Something New!

Doing something New this week/month. I am going to menu plan for the month!! Crazy. I have never done this before. I also plan, don't know if I'll actually do it, but I am going to prep some meals and make two batches and put one in the freezer. I figured I would try it out this month since it's going to be a busy month and we won't be home a majority of the time, so that might make it a smidge easier. Wish me luck!

If you have any tips or suggestions that would make this easier, please leave a comment below! Check out my Instagram to follow my journey and progress.

This weeks shopping list: onion and tomato

Month of Breakfast: For Breakfast I want to have themed days. So every "Monday" we will have the same thing. I think that will work out fine. Two days we will have cereal and oatmeal. I'm also going to do freezer eggs for Wednesday, So i'm going to take a whole dozen, scramble them and freeze them and that should be more than enough for the month. And I think I actually have to buy cereal! Oh and hubby will be happy about the barbacoa! We started buying it raw frozen for so much cheaper. I just made one yesterday, and there was no leftovers, so I gotta put oatmeal on there for backup and gotta buy two more, that should last us through the month.

Mondays: Cereal
Tuesdays: Barbacoa/Oatmeal
Wednesdays: Scrambled eggs
Thursdays: Fruit Salad/Smoothie
Fridays: Cereal
Saturdays: Oatmeal
Sundays: Barbacoa Tacos

Lunch: I usually always have leftovers for lunch and think that should stay the same. But latley there has been no leftovers. So this is the plan: Sandwiches, Tuna and Salads.

Dinners:
Mondays Oriental, beef or chicken
Tuesdays: Taco/Buritto with rice and beans
Wednesay: Crock-pot Meal
Thursday: Pinterest Meal
Friday: Italian/Pizza
Saturday/Sunday: Pantry Meals

Eating Out Days: Weekend of the 12th. Christmas Week; Dec 24-26th (Traveling to Corpus)

Eeek! I'm excited, I think this will work out great. I will prep on Sunday, cook beef for Tuesdays taco nights and take out what I will put in the crockpot on Wed and put it in the fridge and choose a meal I'll plan on Thursday! I'll also chop/slice veggies for the week as well! It sounds easy! And I haven't started for this week. I have an hour till I have to go pick up the girls from school, so CHOP TOO IT! lol

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
