Zero Waste Week 2014: Can it be Easy?

Welcome to ZERO WASTE WEEK! Yeah, I know it's a UK "event." But why do they get to have all the fun, right? Not many people know about this great en-devour or know how big of an impact waste reduction can be. We are pretty good at not producing much waste, with Menu Planning and recycling, it keeps the can not so stuffed. It can get annoying with you drive down your neighborhood and see about 50% with trash cans overstuffed and even with two cans filled.

I find it fairly easy to begin. I shared an intro video on my Youtube channel and will be sharing other short videos sharing small things we are doing this week, so be sure to subscribe if you haven't already. So, a great way to begin is shopping! Everyone shops, right?! Opt out of the PLASTIC and go for the reusable!

Take the quiz to see what you are! EAT WHAT YOU ARE.... What's your Salad Sign.... Earthbound Farms is turning 30 and they are giving away 30 reusable bags! Click below and enter to WIN!

Look at these yummy salads! And they are in glass mason jars! Not only are they safe to eat from, they are BEAUTIFUL!

*Glass is 100% recyclable. You don't have to worry about toxins like BPA or other harmful chemicals that can leach into liquids from plastic bottles, or heavy metals.Your beverage will taste better coming out of glass - no unpleasant plastic or metallic taste or smell. Using reusable glass bottle also benefits the environment and you'll save money and the planet's resources when you stop drinking bottled water.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
