Thursday Night Special - Heading Out!

A facebook friend was talking about how the RGV (Rio Grande Valley) was so boring and that there was nothing to do.... When I was younger the only thing we did was go to the park or ride our bikes outside. But there is a lot of things to do in the valley! And it gets better because we live in TEXAS! I love living in Texas. It's like it's own country, you never have to leave the state. So instead of sharing a recipe with ya'll I thought I'd share some awesome FAMILY-FRIENDLY events coming up that you can enjoy with your family (or date-night). Also linking up with Mama Kat Writing Prompts 4.) List of things you love about the state you live in.

  1. I'm so sad that the drive in near us shut down. It's definitely a fun experience to share and now it sounds like I'll need to head to Texas to find one. ;)

  2. Aack - Blogger always eats my comments!
This is a great list! Drive-ins bring back such memories of childhood for me. We used to go with my cousins and sit on the hood of the car to watch the movie! Farmers markets, blues fests, nature preserves...all things my family enjoys here, too!
It's so true that people often think where they come from is "boring" or that there's "nothing to do" but all you have to do is look around and find so many great things!

  3. Sounds like a great place to live! I love drive in movies and farmer's markets. Your sunset photo is gorgeous!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
