First Week of School... Kindergarten

Has your family gone back to school yet? Well, one of our 3 girls started this past week, and it was a long one, especially for mommy! I remember when I was young I was nervous to go back to school, but man, being on the other side, the mom side, it's way more nerve-wrecking!

We have Eliada (5 years old) at a new "District" and we already love it. My fav part.... the teachers have their own "school" cell phone! We've already taken advantage of that feature! Anyways, the Friday before school started they have "Meet the Teacher," which none of the other schools our girls went to had done before. It was great, a bit unorganized, but was glad to meet the teacher and that Eliada got to meet her too. I think it really helped calm her nerves cus she was soooo nervous!

This pic (above) is on the first day of school. My hubby read the pick-up/drop-off location wrong, so I ended up going to go pick her up at the school. Plus the buses were running an hour behind. She rode the bus the rest of the week, but we ended up deciding that she won't take the bus anymore. She was getting motion sickness and it was just too hot (you can see the sweat)!

On the third day we finally picked her up at her correct bus stop! She was excited cus it was raining!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
