Menu Plan Monday - 10/21/13

We had a great weekend... and now it's Monday morning and I have no clue as to what our menu will be like this week. But I did have several requests to share how to save on GMO-FREE menu/recipe ideas. So I guess I will share a bit of those in the weeks to come. If some of you have been with me for a while, you know that I use to do the HEB coupon match-ups and weekly deals. And I'm sure you have seen a change in direction. We have always been a frugal familiy, but now we are turning into a more healthy family as well. I'm not sure when I leanred the entire truth, but I have been more of an activists, educating the public about GMO's. If you don't know what a GMO is, just google Monsanto, you will be shocked at the information you read and the photos you see. And for the past few months our meals have been strictly homemade. Eating out maybe once a week if that. And when we do, I always get a salad and everyone shares. Of course, the rest of the family really isn't as concerned as I am with our health/food. But they WILL EAT WHAT I MAKE. So, yeah....Be sure to follow me on Instagram also, I'm gonna start sharing our meals throughout the week.
***Oh and update on the Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo I made last week... it was the first time I made it.... SCORE!! We are so pleased as to how it came out! Super excited!

Here are the breakfast ideas for the week: Well, lucky me... I got my hands on a juicer! Yeah! I started "Clean Eating" on Saturday and so far so good. I hit a snag on Sunday afternoon, check out my Instagram to see how it went! So breakfast for this week includes juices with these ingredients...........

Monday: Chicken Pasta Salad

Tuesday: Chicken Chow Mein with Spring Rolls (didn't have this last week)

Wednesday:Glazed Mini Meatballs (GMO-Free)
Grass-Fed Beef, with organic veggies and ketchup

Thursday: Chicken and Vegetable Curry (another first!)

Friday:Crockpot Chicken Chili

Like me on Facebook to see pics of my recipes when I post them! If you have a recipe that you'd like me to blog about or about how it went, if I changed anything, let me know! Or if you have a recipe you'd like me to try, I'd like that as well! Most of these recipes are on my Pinterest page!

Link up with OrgJunkie.com. Lots of yummy recipes that you can find by browsing through her website or the hundreds of others who also share their weekly menu!

  1. Monsanto is infuriating! I always get ticked off at the FDA and food companies. Maybe someday we'll at least get what organizations give the other countries. Your menu sounds tasty.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
