Mom's Meet is Back, Sign-up!

Welcome to "Sane-ville" the time of the year where the kids are in school and you are left at home looking for little projects that you can start and finish before the baby wakes up! Well, I have good news (for locals)! If you are in the Rio Grande Valley (mid-valley) and have an hour or two free a few times a month I am going to be hosting Moms Meet Playdates, Samplings and Mom Night Outs as well! I hosted a few of these back when Yvette was a baby, I wasn't even blogging back then, but I had a CafeMom group and it was great. I tried a few times after that, but the turnout wasn't very well. Recently I've got a bit of interest, thanks to Facebook and decided to apply for a Sampling and I received my package this week!

What is Moms Meet?

It was started by Kiwi Magazine. Kiwi Magazine is a publication that is geared towards helping families live a more natural and organic life and has many resources we can utilize. And it's through them I found Moms Meet. So, Moms Meet is a way
"to unite eco-minded parents (not just for moms!). This online community empowers moms to connect, learn, and share their thoughts on raising healthy families and living green..... We offer exciting opportunities for moms and their friends to try and review natural, organic and eco-products and services, and share their honest feedback through the Mom Ambassador program..."

How do I join?

To join you simply just have to join in the Facebook Group/Event. Through that channel you will receive information on our next Moms Meet, what we will be trying and also the opportunity to pick our next sampling and the topics to be discussed as well as the meet up information. For security reasons, just send me and EMAIL with your name and email address (linked to your Facebook account) with the Subject "RGV Moms Meet." If you do not have a Facebook account you can still join in. I will send all the info that I put in the groups via email. The Facebook group is set to "Secret" so no one can see the group, who is in it, the posts, nor where we will be meeting.

Is There a Fee/Requirement?

Of course not. There is never a fee to join in the samplings or general Moms Meet Meeting. Most of the meetings will be held in my home or one of the members (or maybe a restaurant every now and again). You are not required to be a host. You are not required to participate in all the meet ups. Only requirement is that you have an open mind to try new products and would be best if you already had children (or expecting) to relate with other members.

What will we be Discussing?

I, the Mom Ambassador receives a weekly newsletter with potential topics as well as flyers and additional information to support the topics. You can see past Moms Meet discussions HERE. In the Facebook group, you will also have the opportunity to interact and suggest additional or related topics that we can discuss.

What do I have to do?

Join in the fun! When there is a product that we are sent to sample there is usually a survey that we are asked to give or take at a later time (at your convenience, I will send you via email) to answer a few questions about the product(s). No personal information of the members is ever sent to MomsMeet or the sponsors. I also may be asked to take photos or video (for my Youtube Channel) but you are not obligated to participate in any aspect if you don't want to. Again, no personal information is shared, unless you agree.

Like I said, I already have my first product to sample with ya'll! And aiming to meet up next week! So I'm super excited to try it! So Email me to be added to the group.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
