Coming Soon! Project Lunch Box Challenge 2013

So yup, The Mami Blog is joining in with Family Fresh Cooking and their yearly Project Lunch Box Challenge! I have always wanted to join in but after being defeated the past few years (school not lunch box friendly) I would just throw in the rag. Yeah, I know, horrible. But it's is day 3 since the girls have started school and I have packed them a lunch every day, called and went to talk to the principal about my concerns and I think we are golden. If you don't know what I'm talking about check out the videos I have on my Youtube Channel.

What is the Project Lunch Box Challenge?
Every school day in September Marla will post a lunchbox on Family Fresh Cooking. I want you to join in on the fun too!

Link up your blog to the bottom of this pos and add a September Challenge badge to your blog (side bar or blog post) Post a lunchbox recipe or any kinda lunchbox idea throughout September. Whenever you do link it up to any of my September Challenge blog posts.

So what is a September Project LunchBox Challenge anyways? Basically you can set a goal to pack lunch for yourself and/or kiddos for the month of September. (If I can do it … you sure can!)
If you write a blog post with your great ideas even better! This is the honor system guys…we are simply trying to motivate each other to pack healthy meals at home.

Check out for giveaway information in early October she will randomly choose 3 participants & send ya a Cooking with Trader Joe’s EasyLunchBoxes Cookbook! (Winners must be USA residents, but everyone is welcome to participate.) You are considered a participant if you have one of my badges on your blog & a relevant blog post.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
