Vacation & Traveling with #ClothDiapers

We're headed to San Antonio to visit my sister and I'm just about done packing. I just had to take a breather! I think we are leaving today. The day was full. Before leaving hubby had school and then he stopped by to buy some shoes for Eliada and himself. I told him there was Adidas 40% off, but he likes options! haha. We're going with my grandparents and my mom, so it's a full van. Please pray for us, lol.  They are a great bunch of women, love them to death, but in the recent years my grandparents have lost some hearing, so when we talk to them, we have to yell and they yell back. Plus a 11 month old a 4 year old and a 8, going on 9 year old. Yeah.... you can imagine.

So why the heck am I traveling with my cloth diapers?! Because it's CHEAPER! If we didn't take the cloth diapers (and swim diaper) we would have to buy a pack or probably two packs of disposable diapers which would be over $20! Plus a pack of swim diapers, which I think are like another $10. That's almost a full tank of gas! COME ON!

My sister lives in an apartment, but we will be staying at a hotel, that we booked via Ebates.com. So guess what! I'll be using covers and FLATS!

What is a FLAT?

A FLAT DIAPER IS PROBABLY WHAT YOUR GRANDMA USED ON YOUR BUM!

But I love them still! You don't have to use pins or plastic pants anymore. You can use a snappi or the new "Boingo" You can find them at Mama's Emporium! Click here to visit Mama's Emporium

So, for the weekend I have 4 covers and 8 flats! I also have a little baggy with some rocking green. I'm still not sure, but I do also have some liners that I might take to easily flush the solids. And I will be handwashing in the sink! Handwashing you say?! Yes! You can check out the Flats Challenge that I took HERE. It really isn't all that bad! As she dirties them I will wash them.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend! Be sure to check out the Sprouts and HEB match-up! There are some great deals!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
