Menu Plan Monday - Fridge Food!

Today is Memorial Day... And although I personally do not know anyone who has not come home after defending our country we are paying our respects today to someone from our community. Last week we lost a friendly face, Fr. Mario Galindo in a tragic accident. A service will be held today to remember him. We will, of course, will never forget those who did fight and didn't make it. This day is truly for you!

I know a lot of families get offended because they think we have forgotten, but how can we, we wouldn't live in this country as free men and women if it wasn't for them. They may think it's just about the BBQ. But I know if someone in our family was in the military and didn't make it they would want us to have a BBQ in memory of them. Really! My dad loved hamburgers and even though he wasn't a veteran, he sure did love his beef! So speaking of beef....

This week is about using what we got! Last week and even last night I couldn't resist buying some reduced items from the meat/seafood department so those will be first to go this week! I even bought some strawberries (organic) on Friday and have been putting them in cereal and ice cream all week, I think I may have to compost the few that are left.

Wanna see my fridge?!?!

What I have in the fridge: Bell Pepper, ground beef, shrimp, pasta sauce, lettuce, broccoli, tomato sauce, grapes, broccoli, lettuce, rice drinks and crackers!

Monday - Beef Burritos

Tuesday - Shrimp Alfredo

Wednesday - Leftovers

Thursday - Chicken Tacos

Friday - Fajita with Rice and Beans
Shopping list for this week: Looks like I might need to buy tomato for the tacos on Thursday!

Like me on Facebook to see pics of my recipes when I post them! If you have a recipe that you'd like me to blog about or about how it went, if I changed anything, let me know! Or if you have a recipe you'd like me to try, I'd like that as well!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
