#WeekofGreen, The Future of Food

Day 3: The Future

The future.... what does it hold for us and Mother Earth? These past few months I have been watching health and food documentaries and they are so eye-opening, depressing, education and also light a fire deep inside me. I wish everyone would feel the way I feel. Hubby doesn't like so much to watch them, but the bits and pieces he does here I think does impact him. Just last weekend I put on the movie "Dirt The Movie!" That was a good one. After that, we went to play in the mud, lol. Check out the list of Documentaries below and watch one, two or all of them to celebrate Earth Day and let me know which one is your favorite!

  1. Dirt The Movie
  2. Food Fight
  3. Save the Farm!
  4. Bananas!*
  5. Plastic Planet
  6. The Future of Food
Some of my Favorites:
  1. Hungry for Change
  2. Vegucated
  3. No Impact Man: The Documentary
  4. Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead
  5. Genetic Roulette
  6. Food Inc.
So here are two sets of recommendations, and these are just a few. I had a total of 24 up here, but I cut it down in half so that as a family ya'll can choose one a day to watch until Earth Day! Even if you don't change your eating habits completely, you are making a difference. Or go outside and play with dirt! Love your planet. Visit your local farmer's market. In McAllen, The Fooducator hosts a Movie series.....
EVERY 2nd Saturday of the Month McAllen Public Library, The City of McAllen, Major Health Food Store, The Historic Cine El Rey Theatre Foundation & The Fooducator™ along with many other supporters who make possible the Fooducation™ Movie Series as an effort to help improve the health and wellness of our community.

Come learn how food affects your health & our world!

I found the picture I wanted to put in Monday's post.... go check it out and tell me how you feel when you see it, and how you think the tree feels! It breaks my heart. Check it out HERE.

So, with that I leave you with this question...... WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE?!

Just recently Obama signed what was referred to some critics as "the Monsanto Protection Act" to protect biotechnology,

Family and organic farmers via Food Democracy Now and Organic Consumers Association are now in court with Monsanto to protect our food system. Information on that is here,
