#WeekofGreen, Crafts + Come Back Dear Sun *Review*

Day 5: Lets Get Crafty with a pre-schooler

Today, I just wanted to share some photos of crafts we've been doing all week! Even if you aren't crafty you would be surprised as to how creative our children can be!

I also wanted to share this AMAZING, Eye-opening book with ya'll. It was written by a facebook friend of mine, Geena Bean! She wrote the book Come Back Dear Sun! You can read more about Genna Bean on her Website. I would think this would be a great Earth Day book for the readers in your family, your librarian or teacher! I was sent a copy of her book to read to my girls. I wasn't sure how my girls would like the book. It's a great read. We had just bought our girls some electronic devices to play games and what not and I'm glad that they are not GLUED to the things. You may not know what I'm talking about, but check out the website and read more about it....
Come Back Dear Sun is a delightfully unique children’s book told in well-written rhyme through beautiful illustrations. Young and old alike are sure to cherish this easy-flowing picture book with a memorable message. Imagine what it would be like to awake to the moon glow instead of the sun shining through your window. How would it be to have your days gloomy instead of bright? Well, these children aim to find out what has happened to their sun!
Thanks Geena for writing this book. In-light of all that has happened these past few years in the spectrum of technology a day does not go by where I just want to go outside and smell the fresh air. My girls love to go outside and I just wish other parents felt the same way. I have tried several times to set up play-dates in my area and usually just a hand full of moms show up with their kids.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
