Green Tip Tuesday - Boxes!

Afternoon! It is a beautiful HOT day here in Texas, I just got in from hanging up some diapers. As I was outside thinking about todays post I turned over and I didn't see Eliada. I called out for her and she said "I'm here mami!" I didn't see her!

Let's back up a bit. We are REMODLING! I know! It's not even our house. As some of ya'll may know, we live at home with my mom. We moved in after my dad past away. My mom said we would help each
other and hubby could go and finish school. So, it's been a few years, hubby had been paying for 1 or 2 classes at a time and it's taken a while. So hubby wanted to do some side-jobs around the house and has been slowly remolding some of the house. Hopefully I can show ya'll a decent photo soon.

Fast forward a bit.... we are also cleaning out and organizing the garage, so we had thrown out some boxes, some of which were still in the backyard! SOOO..........

Eliada had been playing in the cardboard boxes, that's why I didn't see her.

And that brings us to the Green Tip for today! Screw spending money on plastic toys that will eventually break, get lost or they would just stop playing with. A box will bring out so much creativity in them, it's AMAZING!

Check out this short film (that is quite long) to give you kids some ideas!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
