Borax Fresh Year, Fresher Laundry *Sweeps*

Thanks to Purex Insiders I have finally had the chance to make my own laundry detergent! Last month I had a guest post from Amanda over at Simple Saving Savvy(head on over and say hi from The Mami Blog!). And I was super excited for the chance to make my own. I mean, one of the things I can never use enough of is detergent. Click Here to see her guest post and leave her a comment telling her thanks or what you use Borax for! So when I got the box to review I was stoked!

Little fact.... did you know Borax is sodium tetraborate? Well, what is that? It's actually a natural substance that is made from the "perpetual evaporation" of seasonal lakes. SO Borax is as natural as it gets, nothing is added; no phosphates, chlorine, or other additive chemicals. How awesome is that. It has so many other uses other than laundry detergent. Even if you don't want to make your own detergent you can just add it to what you already use. It even says right on the box.... "DETERGENT BOOSTER."

So, if you ever have a chance to try it out. Ya'll gotta do it. Leave me a comment if you have ever made your own laundry detergent or clean with Borax. I would love some home-made cleaning solutions to use on my windows.

Or better yet, you can enter to win a coupon for FREE BORAX!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
