2012 - A Year in Review

January: We found out we were pregnant! We actually got confirmation from my doctor that I was indeed pregnant! I was super excited. Funny thing is that, we weren't going to start trying until February or March. We had planned to do the Lemonade Diet together, but that didn't end up happening.

February: We told friends and family the big news

March: Our now "Middle" child turned three! And we cleared the first trimester. I started shopping for baby! Who doesn't love shopping for a baby. And I thank God that he made me smart enough to help us save as much as we could!

April: Menu Planning helped us a whole lot as well as couponing because I started shopping at the grocery store less because we have a great stock-pile! The Great Cloth Diaper Change was also in April. I joined virtually and won a Gro Via Shell from Dearest Diapers!

May: My bump started showing a lot more! I also felt Annaleah move for the first time (5/9) and joined in Danielle's Pregnancy Journal (from Happenings of the Harper Household), which is something that I will look back on in years to come! You can check out my journals HERE.

June: No more school! Yvette was out of school and daddy wanted her to do some sports but she was scared of getting hurt. But during the summer we did a home-schooling type lesson with her everyday of summer (well, almost). Eliada also had been going to Speech Therapy. She was scared at first, but now says "My School!" when we pass by. We also officially moved her into her sister room, so thankful it was a easy transition!

July: The last month of pregnancy! But she was born early, on July 30th at 35 weeks. It was so exciting because my water broke on it's own and it was something that I had never experienced before! But enough with baby. Hubby and I had our last date night before the baby. It was nice, quite and romantic!

August: School, baby, school, newborn baby! That was tough, but so glad that hubby was super helpful, working from home is awesome! I did regret a few shopping trips that I sent him on, he didn't use the COUPONS!

September: Breastfeeding was so much work, after 2 months we switched to formula, but we are still using cloth diapers. So I still feel a little bit like a good mother. :-) Ohhh, I was also almost down to my prepregnancy weight! I was doing shay-tember on my Youtube Channel (and close to 300 subbies!)

October: First time Annaleah was sick and got her shots... so sad to see our little ones in pain (for so little time). And Halloween was AWESOME! We got some great walking done and the weather was great. The girls got their bags full with candy.

November: A month full of thanks! Just soaking it all in.

December: This month was another great month. I had all of our holiday shopping pretty much done before Black Friday and God has blessed us with happy and healthy family. Don't wanna be all sappy, but I love ya'll to and hope ya'll stay with me for another year. This year hubby and I want to get ready for baby number 4. I know, it sounds crazy. But this year is going to be a hard one. Hubby finds out if he will be able to continue his schooling. If so, we might move, which means moving schools, pay off our van, and basically start a new life!

Check out what I posted last year. I did all that I wanted except the SAVING! Although I did save by using coupons and used that money to buy things that we needed. Now what about this year? Here are 5 things that I want to look back and feel accomplished....
  1. Again... not GAIN WEIGHT
  2. Start a "Savings Journal"
  3. Be Kind!
  4. Eat Organic a bit more
  5. Join in's "New Year's Organizing Challenge" and keep it somewhat organized!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
