Green Tip Tuesday *Holiday Edition* Dr. Mom

Afternoon! Today I bring ya'll a great recipe to help jump into your "Dr. Mom" role! I am apart of a great local mom group on Facebook and a group member, Cara, shared this recipe with us. And I've made it twice in the past few months when I thought my girls needed it (so Blessed that they don't get ill that often).

Here is the Pedialyte recipe that I got from my doctor's office.

1 tsp salt
8 tsps sugar
1 liter of clean drinking water ( 5 cups)

Stir mixture until the sugar and salt dissolve

Can add 1/2 cup orange juice or some mashed banana to improve taste and provide potassium. Or SMALL amount of another juice or sprite to improve taste.

Store in refrigerator. Do not use after 24 hrs. Can also make the solution into popsicles or slushies!
Super easy right?! I have only made it in one batch and if my girls finish it, then I will make another batch. We tried the slushie version and added some crystal light flavoring mix and turned out great! I stirred it half way through to make it more slushier and didn't let it freeze all the way, lol.

Also, it's suggested by many websites, including WebMD, that although many homemade recipes are just like the ones bought in-store, they suggest not to give it to children under the age of 12. You can see WebMD's recipe HERE. So consult your doctor and ask or let him know that you will/want to make your own recipe.
