Day 31: Something Eco-Friendly you already do...

  We RECYCLE!

We don't recycle everything. A few things that we do recycle are aluminum cans and newspapers.

But why recycle? I have always wondered, before we recycled, why recycle. I don't know anyone else who recycles, and would it make a difference? Well, I found lots of information that listed benefits of recycling. Here is just some information from Earth911.com.

Environmental Benefits:
  • Recycling aluminum cans saves precious natural resources, energy, time and money – all for a good cause – helping out the earth, as well as the economy and local communities.
  • Aluminum cans are unique in that in 60 days a can is recycled, turned into a new can & back on store shelves.
  • Aluminum is a sustainable metal and can be recycled over and over again.
  • In 2003, 54 billion cans were recycled, saving the energy equivalent of 15 million barrels of crude oil – America’s entire gas consumption for one day.

So, I thought to myself, even if I feel like I'm all alone in recycling... when you add us all up, it does make a huge difference. I even remember when I saw one of the new documentaries (I think it was "Bag It") they even"Reuse" their plastic bottles and people get rewarded for turning in their used bottles and they go back on the shelf's! I think it was overseas. That is a fab idea!

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
