Mid-Week Pregnancy Update *Lots to Read*

These past two weeks I have been gone it's been because of a pregnancy scare. EVERYTHING IS OKAY! I'm just paranoid. I do not want this birth to be scary like my first one, so I am trying to take care of myself, but sometimes it's very difficult. So here's a recap of what happened.

Wednesday evening we went out shopping at Babies R Us looking at bouncers for the baby and I noticed that my face was numb and tingly. My husband said it was nothing, but I was freaking out inside! We stopped and had dinner and it was still tingly. I googled it and it said it could be many different things, none of which I thought were good. So I called my doctor the next morning and they said to come in. When I went in, they didn't rush nor ask about my numbness so I brought it up and the doc just said it could be anything and continued with a NST. That got me a bit upset.

So the weekend came around and a friend of mine on facebook who is a OB nurse said that it was probably brought on by stress and I really need to calm down considering my history and everything (I wish she was my doctor). My husband agreed and said that I really do need to take it easy. Starting that weekend I became very SWOLLEN. So I kinda put myself on bed rest, just for a few hours a day. If I got up for like 10 minutes my feet would start to swell up again. We even had a wedding to go to and I was only able to dance one song, and I love dancing! So we left like at 10:30pm.

The doctor had scheduled me to come back in Monday morning for a glucose test and a NST. Even thought I had breakfast, Moyashi didn't want to move, so that put the docs on the fritz for a while and I was there laying on my side for like an hour until she started moving! Then on my glucose test my fasting reading was good but after I ate breakfast it was high so he put me on meds! I take them twice a day and so far they kinda work. This was a different doctor that I saw and I told him about my numbness and he said that he agrees with my friend it was probably brought on by stress and to rest 2hrs twice a day and put my feet up as often as possible. I asked him about traveling and he said NO!

I have only gone to the grocery store once in the past three weeks! I have been sending my husband and it's so hard! I wish I had like a personal shopper, lol. So I have been home, watching my sugar, resting, doing laundry a little bit at a time and now here I am... Saturday morning, BORED! lol

I have another sugar/NST/BBP on Tuesday, so lets see how that goes!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
