Summer Blogging Challenge - Day 5 - Goals

Day 5: Short-term goals this month

Ohhh Goals! Goals are so important...
A goal is a desired result an animal, person or a system envisions, plans and commits to achieve—a personal or organizational desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines. - Wikipedia
I have a few for this month....
  • Blog everyday for the SBC!
  • Create a creative post and include photos at least once a week
The first goal is just obvious... it's apart of the challenge. I will and have been scheduling these posts, so they are written a few days before, which is great for me. And I don't want to just blog I want to create, inspire and just write! I think subconsciously I've always wanted to write. I've been published many times (just featured in books) and have written for a few newspapers and magazines and it's always fun to see family and friends proud of you. SO... what was I saying? lol Oh yeah, so instead of just blogging, I want to add that personal touch at least once a week so that you can get a sneak peak into my life as well.

Apart from blogging....
  • Get ready for baby (Due in late August)
  • Plant a small garden with my girls
  • Read a book this summer
You can check out my Pregnancy Journal or my Pregnancy Vlogs to stay up-to-date with my 3rd pregnancy. yes, this is our third child, it's crazy to even think about it. Things are going good... have a doc appointment next week, so excited to get an update on my baby! Oh and about getting ready I've got a an excel sheet with our "Baby Check List." Does that sound crazy? Anyways, next thing to do is to finish cleaning, organizing and CLEANING the WHOLE HOUSE! Eeeek!

And I've been wanting and been putting off creating a garden. But I have some seeds that I want to plan in our front yard and with school now over, I may have a bit more time to do it with my two daughters (3 & 7).
Do you have any gardening tips for us?

Then READING! I am so proud of my 7 year old. She just graduated to the next grade level, 2nd grade, and her teacher gave her the 3rd grade reading level reading book. She said she was the only one to get it! So I want to take that time for all of us to read as a family. We use to do it when she was younger, but M-F our days are just mushed together and had so much to do! This will also give the house some QUITE TIME!

So yeah.... WISH ME LUCK!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
