Menu Plan Monday - First of the Summer!

Chicken Enchiladas
with Spanish Rice & Beans a la Chara

Roasted Chicken
with seasoned Potato Wedges & Corn on the Cob

Lasange with beef and sausage
with Garlic bread & Salad

Seasoned French Fries & Corn n Tomato Salad

Snacks for the week
**I'm adding this so that I can stay on track with my snacking. I have GD (Check out my Pregnancy Journals) and I haven't been snacking as much I should and finding myself waiting too long between meals to eat something**

Grapes, nutella, crackers, almonds, frozen grapes, mixed fruit

And yup... girls are home for the summer! Well, just my oldest. She did awesome this year and I'm so proud of her. So this week, she picked some of the meals and side dishes we're eating this week as she will be helping me cook (when she feels like it). Eli loves to cook with me, but always isn't helpful.

Oh and this weeks meals are pretty cheap also... Check out my Sprouts (& HEB) deals because there are some pretty awesome deals, I'm using those to lower my OOP this week by price-matching at Wal-Mart (which is just down the street).

Linking up with, head on over and check out all of the menus on there!

  1. I like to plan a menu for the week. It helps with the grocery bill too because you are only buying what you need instead if throwing this and that in the cart.

    1. Definitely! I planned some of the meals this week because a local store has them for $.49 - $.99/lb! which is awesome!

  2. Hi,

Visiting from orgjunkie. Burger recipe looks good.

    1. Welcome! Yeah, I hope it comes out good!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
