...........14 Weeks..........

You guessed it... Moyashi is the size of a lemon. From head to toe, he's about 3 1/2 inches and weights about 1.5 ounces. And guess what?! He can move around a lot more and move  his little fingers and make it into his little mouth. Sucking on his thumb can be achieved now! He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. And his organs are starting to function like his liver and spleen to help produce bile and red blood cells.

Here is what he looks like....

In the next few weeks most couples will have an ultra sound done and then comes the decision of whether or not you want to find out the gender of your growing baby. I would say it's about 50/50, some families do want to know, where as others want it to be a surprise.
Here is where we stand... we WANT to find out.
Here is our reason... Well, we have two girls right now and if we have another girl we are pretty much set! We would only have to buy feeding supplies and just a few outfits. BUT... if we have a BOY, things would be completely different. I mean, I guess he can wear a few of the girls clothes, but not to sure how hubs would feel about the dresses, haha. Our baby gear is also girly, so we want to find out if we have to be ready to shell out more cash.

If you are interested.... here is my Pregnancy Vlog for this week.

About me & Moyashi this week….

Symptoms:
  • This week 1st trimester symptoms have diminished just a bit, but I still have Desgesia.
  • Other things that have begun is heartburn! I'm drinking lots of cold water to help it.
  • I'm still finding myself tired and out of breath. The other day I did laundry like all freaking day and after that I could have fallen asleep for the night.
  • Itchyness is freaking annoying me. Moyashi is absorbing all of my moisture for himself. Good thing I have some aloe vera lotion to help. I already have some scabbing over some of the scratches. I developed like bumbs over my chest and legs.
  • Chest pains. Doctor said that was just my intestines, which I found kinda odd. The pain is only in one area of my chest and it's really sharp and feels like my intestines are twisting into each other. OUCH!
Weight Gain:  1 lb weight gain this week. That brings me to 190! OMG only 10 away from 200.....
Doctor still hasn't said anything about my weight, which I don't know if he's being nice or if he really isn't worried about it (my other doctor was).

Cravings:  Still nothing... I still get an after taste after eating anything :(

Food Aversions:  Hot dogs, I ate one the other day and ugh, i wanted to gag the whole time.

What made me cry this week:  While on YouTube I saw a video of a beagle barking at a beetle... reminded me of our first dog Dezi, tear!

Medical Stuff:  Nothing much, I just have those labs I still haven't done for my diabetes specialist. Had a doc appointment on Tuesday and got to hear the babys' heartbeat on the doppler!! It was 154bpm, nurse said it was really strong.

Thoughts from the fam:
Eli - Still lots of rubbing of the tummy. And she also says there's a baby in her tummy. Eli is also potty training and a few times when she's had an accident she blames it on the baby in her tummy, too funny.
Vetty - Nothing new... she just asks if the baby is okay.
Hubs - Just lots of tummy rubbing, even though its all fat, haha!

Something I am excited about: I'm excited to find out if it's a boy or girl!! Doctor said that he's still going to be seeing me every two weeks, but no need for an ultrasound, and I'm fine with that, so we just have to wait...

Comments

  1. I like how she blames her accidents on the baby in her tummy. So cute! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  2. I would not worry about the weight gain too much. I gained tons with my first and the doctor was not concerned.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
