pregnancy journalWelcome to the “My Pregnancy Journal” meme, so if you are a pregger blogging mama then you will definitely wanna link up.
It is hosted by Happenings of the Harper Household,
so head on over there to link up.

HI EVERYONE, This is the first week of me joining this meme and glad to be here and excited to read everyones' journal through each of your pregnancies.

Just a little background. I'm 28, married and have 2 girlies. My first pregnancy (at 19) was a complicated one and ended in an emergency c-sec. My 2nd (at 25) and developed GD and was ignorant and agreed to a scheduled c-sec. So, now here I am at 28. I wanted to be at a lower weight, but I got preggo at 185 and we found out on New Years Day and at 7 weeks I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, UGH! So, lets continue...

12 WEEKS PREGNANT
(NO PICTURE)

This week MOYASHI (means bean sprout in Japanese) is about the size of a lime and his fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be.
About me & Moyashi
Symptoms:   This week I have done a bit more walking... just going shopping and doing it FASTER than normal. Cause of that I feel that I have been out of breath more often. After I got back from shopping today, my sister called and I had to stop and take a deep breath while talking to her.
Nausea has slowed down, it was TERRIBLE the past few weeks, I just felt sick all the time. I feel a little better but still just ICKY.
I haven't been diagnosed, but I know I have Dysgeusia (after taste before and after eating ANYTHING) That is so freaking annoying. I think something will satisfy me, but it doesn't. I find that bread, croutons and pastas leave me the worst after taste.
Headache! I guess I figured out that what was causing my headaches (I've had like 3 episodes of horrible headaches) was just caffeine withdrawal. And it did calm down today. (I had a sip of Pepsi today)

Weight Gain: I have been 189 for the past 2 1/2 weeks. So, for me that is good.

Cravings:  I wish I had cravings... anything and everything I think I am craving just makes me feel sick afterwards because of the Dysgeusia.

Food Aversions:  EVERYTHING... I actually don't want to eat anything because I know it won't taste good to me.

What made me cry this week: My headache (I had 2 days ago), I just laid in bed and cried... I did some deep breathing and it kind of went away.

Medical Stuff:  Like I mentioned before. I am condiered obese and I have GDM (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus).

Thoughts from the family: My 3 year old was playing and brought me one of her old bibs for the baby... and she has been giving my belly kisses (gently) a little more, which I think will just increase as my belly grows.
My 7 year old hasn't really given much thought to another sibling I guess... but she's been busy with school testing and stuff.
Hubs... just loves to rub my belly and call the baby "Moyashi" ugh

Something I am excited about this week: Holy cow I'm 3 freaking months! I am excited to hear how my cousins baby shower goes this weekend. My grandmother is going, but we won't be able to go.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
