Menu Plan Monday - 2/20

Last week went great, right on time and everything was delicious! Oh, I so missed the actuall planning that I use to when I first started Menu Planning, but this week I was back on track. Best of all, with Moyashi in the oven hubs has been washing dishes and cooking a few meals. That means so much to me.

I also wanted to share with you what hubs made for a snack last night! OMG, it was sooo good! H-E-B had a wing deal during the week of the SuperBowl. Buy wings and get H-E-B wing sauce FREE. We tried it out and its awesome, not too hot. Of course, for my mom it was too hot, so just be careful when trying it out.

If ya'll don't know, I'm Hispanic and we live in deep south Texas and we are coming upon the Lenten season. Meaning its the time that we observe the 40 days that Christ spent wandering in the dessert. The Catholic Church has Holy Days of Obligation as well as days of fasting. For example, every Friday we should eat small meals and avoid red meat. So I hope to have some great meals and traditions that our family goes through during the Lenten season.

Monday
Bowie Pasta with chunky pasta sauce
Steamed veggies
 Tuesday
Beef with Red Beans & Rice
Cornbread

Wednesday
Fish Sticks
Mac n Cheese with Broccoli

Thursday
Chicken Marsala
Sauteed Cabbage
Potato Au Gratin

Friday
Fish Fry
Buttered Corn
Sauteed Squash

I am excited for this weeks menu. I haven't made Chicken Marsala in the longest time and I have some great fish recipes to share with everyone.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
