Sunday in my City - SMASH

McAllen, Texas
(First SmashBurger location)

ATTN Local RGV-ians... There will be an awesome Grand-Opening for this location on Saturday, April 16th! There will be lots of entertainment for the whole family. Love burgers and music? There will be a performance from the winner of the Smashburger Band Competition from 6-8pm!

I know we'll be there, I just loved the burgers!

I tweeted @SmashburgerRGV about the awesome food I had and they invited me to their Grand-Opening as well as sent along some quotes from the GM about this new location:

"We invite everyone to come out on Saturday, April 16 as we hold our first-ever Grand Opening Celebration. The Viper's Snake Charmers and other youth groups will be performing throughout the day. The Rio Grande Killer Bees "Sir-Sting-A-Lot" mascot and the Gaming Truck will be on hand to entertain. The highlight of the day is the performance of the winner of the Smashburger Band Competition from 6-8 p.m. that night. And, of course we encourage McAllen to come in and have a Smashburger."

"Smashburger believes in becoming a community partner. Before we opened our doors, we partnered with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley in a VIP Tasting at our store where 100% of the proceeds collected went directly to the Food Bank."

I also got an invitation to join them for their fundraiser... but was unable to make it. I just love when our fellow community comes together with great businesses like Smashburger to raise money and help those less fortunate! Great job SmashBurger! And I also wanted to add that you just must try their shakes! I, personally, ain't a big shake fan... but Hubs ordered one and he loved it and insisted that I try it! Well, I did and also loved it. They give you the leftovers from the cup they mix it in! YummmO! Great job Smashburger!

============================
Background on Smashburger:

Smashburger is a fast-casual “better burger” restaurant.  It is located at 1020 Nolana Loop and the corner of North 10th Street.... It features the Texas Smashburger that caters to big, bold flavors Texans love.

Named for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers are a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent—fresh, not frozen, Certified Angus Beef smashed on a flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce, and top-quality condiments.

Smashburger is known for its savory burgers, but the restaurant also serves up delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Burger lovers can pair their meals with beer, wine, Häagen-Dazs shakes, and root beer floats.

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
