A Mother's Heart

With Mother's Day just around the corner it always makes me thing.... We always buy a gift for our mother or recieve a gift, but what does Mother's Day mean for our "Mother's."

I start thinking about Mother's Day weeks before! It's a time that I feel like a better woman! lol Funny, I know. But it's like my heart grows twice it's size, just like in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

It also reminds me of when I started blogging and I started reading all about bloggers who give! I remember join in meme's where I share who I gave that week. Being apart of a group of bloggers who made a difference also makes my heart grew bigger.

When I was about 8 years old I remember my mother.... she helped take care of my great-grandmother and today she's taking care of my grandmother. No other women in the world can surpass the amount of love and kindness she has to give. And ever since my father lost his battle with cancer she has changed. She walks a bit sadder, she misses him so much. But we still go the the Feast of Sharing every Thanksgiving, and we still help out at our local church almost every Sunday.

She has helped me become a better woman, mother, wife and more! Happy early Mother's Day!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
