What Does It Mean?

With a "Big Girl" walking around here we get lots of questions. The one we got recently was "What is Love!?"

OMG, Hubs nearly fainted. I, on the other hand, love her curiosity and even though I get stumped on some, I like to just speak from the heart and tell her what I think. I always make sure to tell her, "Mommy thinks..."

So I just answered this question, again, from the heart. I told her stories about when I was younger and what I thought love was and I told her what I think it is now, after being married and having children. I also told her the story about when I saw my mommy and daddy holding hands and that it made me feel good because a friend of mine had just  gone though a divorce and I felt sad and happy at the same time.

After hearing my stories she just sat there for a while.... I think, I hope it was good silence.
It made me think about Valentines Day, which is why she asked the question in the first place. But I have lots to do! We already did some crafts for my Little M's teachers and the grandparents, but I still need Hubs! Head on over to Beth's blog, Happily Domestic, to see my guest post and the craft I'm speaking of! I'm still thinking about it. I did get him part of his gift, but every year I make him a card.... he tears up every time! I love that. I have also done Shutterfly for other holidays last year and I love how you can personalize them. I gave my aunt a photo mug, also from Sutterfly, with a picture of her kids. She gave me a photo of them last summer and she said she loved it. So I gave her that mug because she's going for her doctorates and is always on the go, and she collects mugs! So I hope she's been using it!

Valentines Day for me mostly is just another day. I also see it as a day to Just LOVE! Just say thank you. Just hold the door for the clumsy mom. JUST LOVE!

What does Valentines Day mean for you?!

Disclaimer: I'm hoping to get and give a reader 25 code from Shutterfly.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
