Postitive Parenting @ The Mommy Blog

If you're a mom and you blog, I'm almost sure you have heard of MomTv.com. I am addicted to a few shows, I don't always watch, but whenever I get a chance, and usually during breakfast or lunch, I love to sit and watch and sometimes interact with the hosts. They are all great and inspiring women. Why am I telling you this?

Well... I stopped in this past week and saw "Stop Reacting, Start Responding" with Sharon and wow... I will be back! Sharon has lots of experience with parenting and answers questions that she gets as well as takes questions from the chat room. I even got some help during the show and decided to take Sharon up on that offer and try it out.

My question was about I can help my Hubby see how he hurts my daughters feelings (ahhh, we got to go pick up Vetty already). So I'll just finish this up real fast. She suggested to "Shut up." Literally. She said to stand back so that I don't interfere with the emotional communication that is exchanged. I thought about that question because I saw Super Nanny a few weeks ago and the look on the little guys face was so painful and full of hurt.

I've been trying it out, and OMG, it's hard!

So stop and check it out. Here is Sharon's contact info and more....

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
