Prompt #7 – Listening In

I "listen in" all the time. I even ignore Hubs sometimes to "listen in" on someone elses conversation. I know, it's a bad habit but I just love to hear what others are talking about. Yesterday as we were walking into the grocery store I heard a man, as he was walking out, talking on the phone and he was telling the other person on the line that he was the boss and that there is no room for mistakes. I just thought to myself about the whole economy and that so many people are out of a job. I would think that if I have some good and dedicated employees I should be glad that they are all making money and want to treat them with respect. Then again, if I were the other person on the line why would I want to work for someone that doesn't has respect for his employees.

Hubs has always makes fun of me because I had four jobs last year. I don't just want a job, I want a career. I want one that I love and that I can relax, not feel pressure and just enjoy it! Of course, I still am not sure what I want to do exactly, but I'm looking and thinking about it.

And yes, I got all that from just overhearing a few words of a conversation. I love how the mind works! lol

Happy Saturday!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
