Toddler Talk Thursday - Basic Addition

Welcome to week 23 of Toddler Talk Thursday! Where Family and Life in Las Vegas, Crazy about my Baybah, and My Life as a Sippy Cup Mom Talk all things Toddler!

Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products. It is a great way to meet other bloggers of toddlers. Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!

Each week the hosts will travel around to each blog that links up, and pick an idea, story, or picture they think was a great example of that weeks topic. In order to qualify for this you need to blog about this week's topic, and follow the hosts. Comments letting us know you are participating are always great too. If we choose your blog, we will link back to your post the following week.

Our highlighted blog this week is:

Party of 5- We loved the pictures of Caleb and The Friend! Thanks for joining us!

This week’s topic is :

Adding to your family - how did/do you know you are ready?
Parents who have already done so - please feel free to share your story of finding out #2 or 3+ was coming along, tips, advice, or anything you think will add to this.
----------------------------------------------------------

We had Little M in 2004 and she was the only child for over four years! When we were dating/engaged, we talked about having a family more often than not! I was so happy that we were both on the same page, family wise, but we're still both stuck on how many we actually want and need. Anyways, we decided that we were ready to have baby two after my father past away, it was a sad time, but we knew that he wanted us to have more children because we were such good parents. But when we started trying for baby two, we ran into bumps... that's a whole other post. So it took a little longer than expected. We found out after Little M turned 4, I was super duper excited. I had lost 20 lbs, work was going great but we were still living at home (and we still are). Now Baby m is almost 2, a hand ful, but wouldn't have done anything differently.

So glad that we got pregnant when we did. My sister and I were two years apart and that was great that we were so close, but we were a hand full! Little M and Baby M are 4 years apart and ever since the day Baby M was born Little M has been the best Little Mommy ever! She's super protective and loves to help mommy. Laundry, dishes, diaper changes, you name it.

We also were very prepared for baby number two as we knew more or less what to expect. We saved all the cutest baby clothes and we already had a crib. We saved so much more money. With our first we saved quite a bit to because this was the first "great-grandchild" on both sides!

Baby M was such a big success!

Now baby #3.... with both Hubs and I out of a job (official job, that is) we have to wait a bit more than we wanted. We actually wanted to try sooner than the last. But we've decided to wait another 2 years until we become more financially secure. And obviously (maybe) we're hoping for a boy!

If you're thinking of having another baby, look at what you have, make sure you have enough room and consider the gender and what options you have available. For us, if we had another one we would definitely have to move out or remodel to make our master bedroom bigger! We like our baby to co-sleep for a while and then have their own room so that they don't wake up the other babies!

This link up is for families that have toddlers. Raising a toddler can be fun, crazy, exciting, and exhausting. Sharing what works for you could give other families another way to do things.

Have Fun!

Next weeks topic will be:
Potty Training: When will you start potty training? Those of you that did, share your tips!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
