Green Tip Tuesday - Can I do it?

I've been so nervous.... I don't know why. I'm going get my hand into composting. I almost tried once before, actually I just read, read and watched videos. Today I did the same thing. I read through E-How for about an hour.

First things first, I don't have a composting bin :( But I do have an ugly old trash can in the garage. So I'm going to be "craftsman" and use a power tool to drill holes and use some bricks to prop it up from the ground. Wish me luck!

This was the challenge from Change The World Wednesday, but I'm just going to start now. Of course, I'll give updates on how everything is going. I'm planning on buying or looking for a small kitchen composter so that I can keep the kitchen clean. Lately, I've been throwing all our food scraps to the alley, sometimes to our dog, but why throw it out when you can use the soil for a garden. I don't have a garden, but my grandma gardens a whole lot, so I plan on taking it over to her when the cycle is done. And with spring coming up, I think she'll appreciate it a lot more.

So this weeks 'Green Tip' try Composting. If you've never though or don't know where to start. Just do what I've been doing, watch videos, there's tons out there! Are you up for it?
