CLOSED - Day 4: Get Your Men in Gear! *Giveaway*

PhotobucketA few months ago we cleaned out our garage and we used a good amount of twist ties to organize and store our holiday . Then when the holidays came around we cut and threw away those zip ties. Hubs loves to buy a pack every time we visit our flea market because you can buy them for a few cents! My goal each week is to not fill our trash can to the rim, although zip ties are super tiny, it just kills me to use one-time use products, especially items that are pretty useful, and Hubs loves to use them whenever he can.

Well... Although it might be sad that Hubs no longer has to buy those zip ties, we have found a wonderful alternative. GEAR TIE, Reusable Rubber Twist Tie!

I absolutely love all the things you can do with them. As I was making wedding plans Hubs decided to surprise me and redecorate the living room. I had been planning on doing this for a while, as we plan to have a engagement party in a few months. He had already decided how he was going to rearrange the furniture and put up my Christmas present (I bought myself some new (used from the local flea market) mis matched picture frames to put some family photos. Anywho... Hubs started dismanttling the entertainment center to move it and use the Gear Ties to stay organized. The Gear Ties come in different sizes and colors to stay a bit more organized. He wrapped all the game system cords in one color and the television cords in another color. When he started to put everything back together he knew where everything went (he also placed masking tape with numbers to remember where they go, lol). After he had them in place he used the small 3” to gather some of the cords together to look more organized.
I also recently used them in a project that my daughter and I did. It was for my daughters science project. We really had fun doing it together and Gear Ties helped us stay organized and avoided disaster! Her project was all about sorting! She loves to collect rocks and marbles. So she decided to get the rocks that she collected through the years and match and sort them to some marbles that her grandpa gave her. She came up with the bright idea to use the gear ties (she had seen daddy using them) and bend them  to form a circle and they kept the marbles from rolling away. She sorted all her white rocks with the white marbles and so forth.
Just one more quick example! We have tons of keys, but our key holder only holds 4 keys. Occasionally we’ll hang some clothes from hangers that didn’t dry outside on the line. So I grabbed the Gear ties and bent it at the middle then twisted them out to form two extra hanging places! Genius!
Best part is that after using them we can bend them back to their shape and store them in the pantry or daddy's tool box for the next time we need them! Gear Ties are perfect for kids, moms, dads and everyone in the family.

Made in the USA! Minnesota to be exact by Nite Ize.
Gear Tie Reusable Rubber Twist Ties have a tough rubber shell that provides excellent grip, a strong wire inside that holds its shape, and a range of bright colors to catch your eye! Choose one of five sizes (3", 6", 18", 24" or 32") to organize nearly anything from a small cord or cable to large sporting goods equipment. Twist it, Tie it, Reuse it – Gear Ties!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
