This evening I'd like to talk to you about The Cloth Diaper Foundation! If you haven't heard of them you got to keep reading! Even if you don't have kids it's good to know this information to pass on to those who are expecting and/or having some financial difficulties.

The Cloth Diaper Foundations was founded in January in 2005 as Miracle Diapers. It is a non-profit organization run by moms; Heather, Lisa, Roxanne, Darcey and Juliane. They have all worked extremely hard to get diapers out to those who need them. What the Foundation does is provide cloth diapers to families who are low income and don't have enough money to purchase those high quality diapers. For just the price of shipping (depending on the package that you need), you have gently used diapers. These diapers are a loan. So you can try out different kinds of diapers and save money for the diapers you like best! Several times a year they run out or low of diapers! Ahhh, now there are more moms waiting for diapers. That is why I am writing this post.... donate your gently used diapers. I have! I have been cloth diapering for almost two year now and there are diapers that are still like new (especially the newborn diapers). We plan on having two more children (hoping for boys), so I donated a few girly prints, lol. If you'd like to get some of these donated diapers click HERE for more information on the application process. Applications however are CLOSED. Why? There are not enough diapers to go around and they run out quick when they open up applications. Keep a look up on their Facebook page for updates for when applications re-open! (info below). If you'd like to know more about cloth diapers Cloth Diaper Foundation has lots of resources at the Discovering Cloth page!

Another way is shop at one of the retailers who are members. Some online retailers will donate items for every purchase, that is pretty awesome.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
