Mommy Q & A - A bloggy blog world

With the year coming to an end I was thinking about where we are compared to the start of the year. My family has actually changed a whole lot! My, then baby, is now a toddler. My then 5 year old is now a 6 year old who wears glasses and has a burn scar on her cheek! Lots of other family members have moved, divorced (sad to say), and a close friend of the family might be bringing in the first baby of the New Year! How exciting!!

Other than that I was thinking about my life... honestly, I have no friends. My friends are you guys! Really. Yes, I go out, but with hubs and we go to like walgreens to buy toilet paper, or to Wal-Mart, just to walk around. Occassionally we'll go to the Dollar movies or to a semi-expensive restaurant. This year we did venture out of our normalcy box, we went to a Christmas party of an old friend from high school. It was fun, we chit chatted a bit, but we weren't thinking and didn't get anyone's number or anything, lol. My highschool friends are off in their own little worlds. None of them have kids so we wouldn't have much to talk about anyways, they all go out to clubs and drink, we DON'T drink (I've come to that realization)!

So blogger, facebookers, twitters, readers and stumblers I appreciate you helping me think that I'm sane and a good mother trying to be a little nice to mother earth. I talk to hubs (that's his new name, not hubby), I have been talking more and more about my "friends!" Which are ya'll. I don't even know if you consider me your friend.... Calley @ The Eco Chic, Jen from Saving & Giving, Beth @ Happily Domestic, Kim @ Dirty Diaper Laundry and so many new friends thanks to Texas Blogging Forums!

There are the sad times then, the reason I originally wanted to write this post... to knock some sense into some people. Why would i take offense to something someone comments or doesn't comment when they really don't know me or I them. I have been reading lots of things about companies, bloggers, friends and even family upset due to blogging.

With this new year I wish everyone the best of luck with their blogging and to overcome these issues with professionalism and remember this is an opinionated, controversial world that we can't avoid! I'm glad to know that these problems are shared with us so we can talk about them, but maybe if we don't post a blog about it, find somewhere, like a forum where we can vent. Again, just my opinion....

With everything said.... Thank you once again to everyone for reading my blog and here's to a New Year!!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
