*Help Feed Texas*

The holiday season is getting closer... it's actually closer than I though. There are always lots of can drives that are being held. We always donate as much as we can, or even volunteer. This year H-E-B has made it easier than ever to do your part. Here is some of the statement that was released this week:

H-E-B Invites Customers to Join "Help Feed Texas" Movement on Facebook

(SAN ANTONIO) — H-E-B has launched a "Help Feed Texas" movement on Facebook to benefit Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief organization, which also supports Texas' 15 Feeding America food banks.

Beginning November 2, H-E-B is inviting Texans to join its page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HEB and show their support for the movement by clicking the "like" button.

Click HERE to read the whole press release. H-E-B is one of my favorite local grocery stores. They always have awesome deals, and most of those are their regular price. Let me tell ya, they are way better than Wal-Mart. I encourage you to go over an "Like" H-E-B on Facebook so you can do your part.

If you'd like to do more this holiday season H-E-B also hosts their annual Feast of Sharing! Click HERE for a list of the schedule for this year. I already have my calender marked for when they will be hosting in a town near me! Here's a picture of last years feast of sharing. There is always stuff (FREE) for the whole family; games for the kids, entertainment and delicious FOOD! I love it because there are lots of people who are fed, but there's also tons of volunteers; young, old and families. It's just a great sign that we still help out when others need us!

Thank you H-E-B & thanks to everyone that "Likes" H-E-B on Facebook. We can all make a difference!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
