Sundays in my City - Just Fun!

A lazy Sunday afternoon....

Fun filled day at McKelvey Park in Harlingen, TX

We took a drive to Harlingen, Texas (30 minutes from the beach) to a park near downtown and is off the Arroyo, Colorado River that runs through the Rio Grande Valley. The river is still flooded from the hurricanes that came within a few miles south and actually hit Mexico. We still had a great amount of watershed. The mosquito are numerous right by the banks and some of the grass is still soaked in mud. But it's still a beautiful sight.
So, daddy slid down the slide with Eli and we brought my cousin, "Z" with us and we told them that we would always play hide-n-seek, so they played that for about 10 minutes and then got bored! lol We found a tree with exposed roots and we told them about all the water that was being pushed through all the rivers and dams in the area so that it would flood and the water probably reached all the way to the tree. They were amazed. That tree was a good 30 feet away from the bank and about 3 feet away in height. Oh and Eli was wrapped in her Moby! We ended the day taking a walk through the Rio Grande Premium outlets! That was a day full of fun and exciting!

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
