Menu Plan Monday - Send me Ideas!

Everything has been running smoothly here in our household and I am eager to get things ready for a new week. And as you see in the title "Send me Ideas!" I was talking to my husband about this week menu and we want to try some of your "old"recipes and make them our "new" ones! So what has been in your family for centuries? Or what is your families favorite Sunday night meal? Send them on over and we will be sharing and trying your recipe on my blog! So send me an email and starting in November I will be featuring a few of ya'lls recipes.

Here is the menu for this week:

Monday - Pot Roast n veggies with homemade mashed pot n gravy

Tuesday - Pasta Rendezvous with fresh cheese n strawberries (pasta salad)

Wednesday - Post Roast n blue cheese salad with roasted corn n cabbage

Thursday - Leftovers

Friday - Ham and mozarella melts (sandwiches)

I finally got my pantry organized and I have all our pasta in glass containers. All our fruits and veggies are bought from our local farmers market or organic grocery store (Thank you Sun Harvest). Still haven't converted to organic beef yet. But almost everything else is organic. Hubby still likes the Activa yogurt though. And we have fallen in love with fresh cheese, especially when it's on sale. The girlies love to snack on fruit n veggies so we only buy them organic.

Enjoy the new week, the holiday spirit is in the air. We may be visiting our local pumpkin patch, i'll be sure to take pictures. And we're going to be starting our fall crafts and I will be posting a how-to with a link to, so be sure to come back and check that out.

  1. Pot roast has always been my favorite meal to make, especially on a Sunday! I have cooked many different pot roast recipes in my time, but it wasn’t until I started to work for La Cense Beef that I found the most flavorful ones. La Cense is an approved USDA grass fed program. The website has a few of the most delicious pot roast recipes amongst others. Maybe you’ll find some to make your own.

  2. Thanks for the great tip... I will look into that! Have a great week!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
