GTT - Virtual Food Drive

Green Tip Tuesday features Libby's virtual canned food drive. I love this idea of it being virtual. Why? Well, it is such a greener alternative than a physical food drive. You save on time, money and gas that you might otherwise have put towards participating in the food drive.

We have until the end of December to donate to "Libby's and Feeding America: Save Children from Hunger!" drive and there are so many different ways you can participate. Read below for all the information on this years virtual food drive and BE GREEN!

Libby's and Feeding America: Save Children from Hunger!

A recent report released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that nearly 17 million children in the U.S. live on the brink of hunger. Overall, more than 16 percent of Americans, or 49 million people, sometimes run short of nutritious food.

That's why, as part of this year's Get Back to the Table month, Libby's and Feeding America want you to help less fortunate families Get Back to the Table through the Virtual Canned Food Drive.

This is Libby's second year partnering with Feeding America to raise money through an online canned food drive. We want to empower you, your family and your community to give back to needy Americans. Here's how you can participate:

1. Click here to create a team. It can be your family, a group of friends or even an individual.

2. Start raising money by sharing your link with everyone around you. From friends to family, it doesn't hurt to ask.

3. You have until Dec. 13, 2010, to raise as much as you can through your donation page. If you raise $1,500 or more, Libby's will congratulate you by providing you with a year's supply of Libby's vegetables!

As a thank-you, Libby's will give every person who contributes to the Virtual Canned Food Drive a coupon for 50 cents off two cans of Libby's vegetables.

In addition, Libby's will match up to $40,000 of donations raised through December 13, 2010, which will help provide 525,000 meals for needy families!

Remember -- every five dollar donation helps provide 35 meals for needy families. Please support the cause!

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
