Five Family Fun Tips

Ohheee! The school season has started for most of the families around the US. Yesterday was the first day for us. Everyone's schedule is still a bit shaky, but can't wait to get back on track. A few ways we cope with all the confusion is by inputting a little fun, family fun daily!

Lots of parents get lost in the hustle and bustle when the school season starts. We have some great easy and fun tips for you and your busy family.
  1. Your Back Yard: We go outside almost daily (some days it's way too HOT here in Texas) to feed the dog and grab a ball, frisbee or anything we can throw really. Atleast 5 minutes, we get our sweat on and have a blast every time.
  2. Card Games: My 6 year old loves card games. We turn every card game into old maid! lol
  3. Park: While we are out and about (going to the laundry mat cus our dryer broke), we always walk over to the park that's right next door. So we combine chores with pleasure.
  4. Driving: We haven't been doing much of this, but every now and then we go for about an hour drive. We have a highway that runs along farm land and old church's, we love to drive by and take in the scenery.
  5. ISpy: You don't need to go out and buy many games or books to have a great time. We play at home, on our way to school. It's a great way to get your kids to think and learn to be aware of their surroundings!
I hope you find time to add some fun time into your daily schedule. Anything other than your kid knowing that they're learning.

Enjoy the beginning of the new school year.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
