Pros/Cons of Sunning your Cloth Diapers

Do you line dry your cloth diapers or dry them in your clothes dryer? Tell us what you do and what you like best about each method. Don't forget to Grab my Fluff Talk Thursday Banner for your post (can be found at my right side bar) Then come back and link up your post for all to read.

Welcome to another posting for Fluff Talk Thursdays. I love reading and sharing my tips and ideas on how we use our cloth diapers. Like I've always said, there aren't many families in south Texas that use cloth diapers and I just love showing them off. Secretly thinking, "I'm making the planet better for your children too."

Well, here in south texas most families also do not have a dryer. Why? Well, it's always HOT! Actually, ours doesn't work, so that's why we don't have one. I'm also very lucky to have a laundry mat just down the street from my home. At first, I use to dry all my diapers in the dryer, but then I read that not all PUL should be dried in the drier. SO I just thought I'd save about $10 a week and dry my diapers on the line. I used the line to dry mostly whites and towels, so I went a head and added diapers to the list.

Now that I'm working FULL-TIME (((Did I tell ya'll, I'm working for the CENSUS 40 hours a week))) hubby sometimes does laundry, and he is so good at it, although he does put a little extra softener in with his clothes, lol, he will take the diapers and dry them in the dryer. AND! he knows which diapers to take out, but he leaves them for me to hang them on the line, and I don't have a problem with that.

I really don't have a favorite method. Yes, sometimes the diapers that get lined dry are a bit stiffer, but I almost always add a liner and those have a layer of flannel that is soft on my babies bum. Line drying her in Texas, believe it or not, is sometimes more convenient for me (or faster on HOT days). I'll hang them up before I go to work and then just bring them in on my way in after work. No extra effort really, well actually less, because we don't waste gas nor man power (hubby power) to carry the load from the car to the laundry mat. Oh and the girls love to go outside with me too. They get to blow bubbles, play with our beagle, Dezi, and swing on the swings. So we all get a work-out! That's never a bad thing, right?

So, which ever method works best for you, or both, like we use, don't let anyone convince you other wise. All that matters is that your diapers get clean, right!
