Flea Market Deals!

I make it a point write notes for lots of things. For example, we go to the flea market maybe twice a month or more when the sun is out and it's fresh outside. Anywho, hubby downloaded a program called stickynotes. It looks just like a sticky (yellow, green, blue) and it pops up on your desktop and you can add or delete stickies whenever you want. If your computer goes to sleep, your sticky stays on your desktop when it wakes up. Anywho... so I can have upto 3 stickies up at a time... one for reminders for the day, like when i'm cooking (chicken ready at 4:50 or don't forget to stir the beans!), then I can have another with important numbers or small grocery lists or good coupon deals I found that day. I had had a sticky up for a while that we needed to buy new sheets (looks like rats were chewing at our feet for a few weeks, lol). It also happened to be a nice day out so I asked hubby if he wanted to go to the Farmer's Market. Hubby loves the one on Vicotoria Rd. (in between Donna & Weslaco), because they have great old & new things and it's a flea market and a farmer's market in one (you do have to cross the street). So I had sheets on my mind as we strolled through the flea market. We saw a few stands that sold sheets... $75, $50, $45. Too much for me! Then we saw one $23 1200 count King Sheet Set! BINGO! They had all sorts of colors and the pillow cases were embroidered. So I told hubby, BUY IT! He went up to the lady and gave her $23, but she said these are $20, "PERFECT." Two days later, they are washed and on our bed. The sheets are a bit rough, but they just need to be broken in, right?! Teehee.

So, just wanted to share my excitement with ya'll. And these aren't used sheets, they are NEW!
Have a great day!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
