"A Little Bit of Everything" - Sunshine Award

It's another gloomy day in Texas, but there is a ray of sunshine shinning on my blog today! Calley from The Eco Chic awarded it to me and eleven other bloggers. I started ready Calley's blog when I became preggo with baby number 2. I knew I wanted to cloth diaper and I was looking for detergent that would be safe for the diapers. I saw Calley's review on Rockin' Green and bought a sample pack and loved it. I still go over and read her blog because in December of '09 hubby was laid off and being green was a good way for us to save tons of money.

Thanks for the Sunshine Award. I am a blogger because I want to spread the word about the joys of being a mommy! I also love to save money and when there's a good deal I'd like to shine some light on it so others can save to. I also love to cook and me being Hispanic the foods we make are not your usual meals. I recently started holding giveaways, so keep an eye out for those.

The rules of the Sunshine award is to pass it along to 12 other bloggers....

  1. Green Mama on a Budget - <<--- explains it all
  2. Happily Domestic - I love her reviews and recipes
  3. HomeCooking with Sonya - Unique recipes and great pics
  4. Living Smart Girl - She has great fitness and health tips

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
