Blog Hop - About 20 Years Ago

The Blog Hop theme for this Monday is "ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO". Tell us about your life 20 years ago. What were you doing? Where were you? What direction were you heading? How is your life different now that what you THOUGHT it would be?

Twenty years ago, almost to the day I was six years old! My birthday is January 29th...

I was in Kindergarten in Mrs. Gomez class and she was a good odd teacher. I say odd because she was very loud and she loved to clap! I remember who my friends were and that I was pretty smart. My personality was the same then as it is now, believe it or not. I didn't like to waste time, I liked to get down to business and then play. Even then I really didn't like to play that much... That is also the year that I permed my hair! My favorite outfit was a pink n blue sailors outfit and I had a crush on the cutest boy in the school! I didn't like eating lunch because the girls didn't like to sit with the boys, I liked to because they actually had meaningful conversations.

Anywho, at that age I remember thinking about marriage and thinking that I would be married, with one or two children and have a good paying job by 25.

Now, 20 years later, I just turned 26 and I am married to a beautiful, caring man and I have two beautiful baby girls! I just entered the workforce, working in the retail industry, and for the economic times we are having, I do get paid pretty well. Although the only thing that I am disappointed about is that we live with my mother. Well, not really, we moved in when my father past away almost five years ago, and we pay all the bills and such, so my mother kinda lives with us.

Anywho, once again, I am extremely happy with the way things are going now and I am now just waiting on life to continue its course and hopefully I get a raise soon!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
