Green Tip Tuesday - Plan Sam!

Ahh, Tuesday! Don't you just love it.... It's not the beginning of the week, the middle nor the end, it's just TUESDAY! Today started out kinda rough, I slept in! It through my whole day off track, but I got everything I needed to do done. I feel accomplished. I had my first real interview. It was with a law firm. I had the interview with the actual lawyer, how cool is that.

While I was driving about I thought that I would share with ya'll my day. Why? Well, because I think I had a pretty darn green day. First off, I keep a planer, I write everything down in it, from personal to business. Today I had the interview down along with "drop off applications." Although I didn't have my day completely planned out by hour I know what has to get done. Now here's the green part. After I went to the interview, which is on the North side of town, I got back into my car went through all the applications that needed to be dropped of and looked at the address and stacked them from closest to farthest (to home). I also made a mental not of "Lunch." I did this before I put the key into the ignition and turned it on. I did this before I wasted gas, not to mention filling the atmosphere with exhaust. Blah! It annoys me that we don't have a green car yet, but that is on my Life List!

So that is my tip for today. If you go to work, before you drive to to your home, call the wife and ask her if she needs you to pick up something from the store, or check to see if you have any letters to mail out or packages to pick up. Because if you drive straight home, almost everyone drives off somewhere and that was just a waste of gas. There have been days (our dryer is broken) when i do laundry at night and pile the wet clothes into the car that night that way I smell the softner in the clothes and I stop by the laundry mat before I go home.

It's really not that hard, and believe me you will get a lot more done. How many times have you forgotten to mail out the bill, but you're already home, you already kicked off your shoes and you had a long day at work. So you say to yourself, I'll do it tomorrow, but do you? Most of the time you don't.

Keep it Green, Keep it Clean!
