According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer within her lifetime – that is 12% of all women who will be personally impacted by the disease!

How Can You Help Contribute to the Cause?

In September and October, Yoplait is making it easy for people to participate in the fight against breast cancer by savings and mailing their pink lids from Yoplait yogurt cups. For every pink lid mailed by December 31st, 2009, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, up to $1.5 million, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $500,000. You can also visit YourLidMatters.com to create online lid collection teams.

Over the past 11 years, Yoplait has donated more than $22 million to the breast cancer cause through Save Lids to Save Lives and other initiatives. Last year, participants across the country helped Yoplait to meet its $1.5 million donation goal to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Now back to those precious baby bottoms.... Happily Domestic has reviews a new diaper from Blue Penguin Diapers, I had never seen these before... check it out and you can win one of these HERE.

The SposoEasy™ is simply the best all-in-one diaper with natural fleece fabric on the market today: the trimmest, softest natural cloth diaper out there! It was developed over more than six months and provides leak proof leg openings with no bindings to leave red marks; an adjustable fit at the waist with either aplix or snaps; a quick-dry attached doubler that easily accommodates a second or third doubler for night diapering; and a soft knit PUL exterior shell that is available in seven colors or white. There is no other diaper out there that provides all this and natural fabric next to baby's delicate skin.

Designed to be trim, leak-proof and comfortable for baby, the SposoEasy™ - Fleece Interior comes in two different natural fabrics: organically grown cotton and an antimicrobial hemp. Hemp fabric makes a great, all natural interior for cloth diapers because of it's durability, absorbency, anti-mildew and anti-microbial properties. Both hemp and organic cotton are easier on the environment than other fabrics as they are grown without the use of pesticides.

The use of hemp or organic cotton fabric makes the interior of this diaper similar to the interior of a sweatshirt. The brushed side of the fabric is very soft and fluffy when it is brand new and as you wash it, the fluffiness decreases over time. Just like your favorite old sweatshirt, this diaper will still be soft and comfy (and absorbent!) for baby after repeated washings.

Extremely functional, the SposoEasy™ doesn’t lack for style! Available in either aplix or snap versions, there are also seven colors (sage green, chocolate brown, aqua, black, lilac, raspberry pink and buttercup yellow) or white from which to choose.

The SposoEasy comes in a variety of sizes from Extra-Small to Large to fit your baby at every stage! Bear in mind when sizing is based on weight, you must also use your judgment about the build of your baby. A tall 20lb baby is very different in build than a short 20 lb baby!

At Blue Penguin, we think diapering should be easy, natural is healthy and conserving money and natural resources is important, so at our company we aim to do it all! We are a community-aware, family friendly workplace that is determined to make quality products.

BabyBox - Ear Flap Hat {Giveaway}

Fall is here, but it's been feeling more like winter to me lately. Time to bundle up and make sure my kids have their hats and mittens on. I always seem to have a challenge when it comes to my real little ones and hats, they never want to stay on. I may have found a solution to this problem with our new little guy. An adorable personalized, solid ear flap hat from BabyBox.com. I love that you get to pick the name you want on the hat, in the spelling you want (hard when your child has a unique name and you only have a list of names to pick from,) color of the hat, and the name color. Great to be able to pick a color that matches your child's snow suit or coat. I like the strings, they aren't super thick to make it hard to tie under a fat little child's chin. At first I was a bit concerned with this hat because it seemed very large for an infant, however with customer services help I was ensured that the had would shrink down and fit a range from newborn to 6 months. It's a tad bit big on my eight week old, but once we have to wear it consistently it will be perfect. This specific hat is 100% cotton, is easily washed and dried and available in three sizes to fit nearly all children.

BabyBox.com has many kinds of cute personalized items and tons of products to choose from. Decor, clothing, accessories, bedding, toys, books, for the nursery and more. I'm sure you can easily find many products you'd like to add to your wish list.

Your Baby Can Read Giveaway!!

I have seen the infomercials on Television, like many of you, for "Your Baby Can Read." It's amazing to see the babies this young reading words. It's almost unbelievable! As a teacher and mom, I was skeptical about the process. However, my interest was peaked. I didn't have it to use when my daughter was a baby, but I still wanted it to try it even though she is 3 years old.

Your Baby Can Read program description according to the manual:
Dr. Robert C. Titzer, Ph.D., a professor and teacher for over 15 years, has extensively researched infant learning and development. His program isdesigned for children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. In the firstyears of a child’ life, tens of thousands of synaptic connections are made eachsecond in the brain, opening the door for increased learning capacity. Normally, children don’t start learning to read until age 5 or 6 years old, but thenatural window of opportunity begins to close around age 4.A baby’s brain thrives on stimulation and develops nearly 90% duringthe first five years of life! Dr. Titzer says the current practice of startingto teach reading skills in school is too late and children benefit greatly fromgetting a much earlier start since a child basically has only one natural windowfor learning language — from about birth to about age four. During this periodit is easier for a child to learn any type of language including spoken, receptive, foreign and written language. The earlier the child is taught to readthe better they will read and the more likely they will enjoy it.

Mom's Best Bets is giving away one "Your Baby Can Read Starter Kit" to a reader.
The starter kit includes the Parents’ Guide, 1 DVD, 1 Learn to Read Word Cards and the Starter Book.
