Menu Plan Monday =Featured Blogger=

I was gone all weekend with the family visiting family up in Corpus Christi, Texas. We had a great time; ate great food, went shopping, saw a movie, went to the beach! It was awesome. Stress-free too! We got home late Sunday night. I will not be planning a menu this week because I really don't know what we have. My mom was home and I saw she made soup and some pizza, so I got to go through and re-do my "have" list. So I will be featuring a fellow Menu Planner mom this week: Sarah @ Living Fabulous on A Budget.

She has an awesome blog about "Living Fabulous on a Budget! This week she says she won't be going grocery shopping! That's awesome. I too might not have to go shopping this week as well. So Stop on by her website and she's always asking for new recipes so see if you can help her out by growing her recipe stash! She also has another blog full of recipes: Family Meals on a Buget.

If you'd like other ideas for menus or recipes stop by and see the gals at Menu Plan Monday Gathering.

Here is Sarah's post for this week:

Im going to try to not go to the grocery store this week. I have a pretty good backstock going, I just need fresh fruit. I have plenty of frozen and canned vegetables. Matt, my husband, will be in New York for 3 weeks, he left today :(!!! He will be there for work, so my menu plans will be mostly quick, easy and kid friendly.

Tuesday-BBQ chicken, Hasselback potatoes, Broccoli--5lbs of potatoes for .99 cents!

Wednesday- Savory Chicken sandwiches Great deal on chicken breast HERE

Thursday-Homemade vegetable soup w/ grilled cheese sandwiches

Friday-Homemade Pizza (this has become a regular friday night thing.) Salad

Saturday-Busy day, we are doing Arts by the Bog Matts Grandparents put it on at their cranberry bogs. So we'll probably eat dinner at the festival.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
