Feeling Crafty

I love making crafts without having to buy anything... I repurpose tons of things. I want to try to see if I can crochett plastic and make plant holders or bottle holders for my cousins for christmas, I think that would be a super cool gift to show them off to their friends. I also want to make matching totes.

But anywho.... I really didn't get lots of sleep last night, maybe 5 hours. I've been ill. I'm not a medicine gal, so I've just been resting and drinking orange juice, other liquids and soups... I did have a burger yesterday. But anywho. I've also been doing housework slowly because I hadn't really been feeling like getting out of the house. So today when I woke up I really didn't have anything to do and I didn't want to turn on the T.V. to waste electricity to cure my bordum, so I went through my babies "doesn't fit" pile and went through my "don't like to wear" pile to see if I could make a decent looking fall dress for my little one. She's 7 months now! and already fitting into her 12 month clothing. Most of the winter clothes I had bought during the summer I bought in 6-9 size... MISTAKE! But anywho, so I had seen some mama's on Cafe Mom talk about this one great recycling onesie project. Here's the link where they found the Teecycle craft. I gave it a go and I think it was a great success, I wanted to make another one. I didn't take before pictures, but here is the finished product

What do you all think? I also got a tank top that I want to make babylegs out of anyone have any links that have easy instructions? It looks pretty simple to do, Just not sure how to finish it off or to add frills or what not.

I plan on sharing how and what my family does to be green on a monthly basis or more so if you have any questions or would like to share your green crafts with me and be featured on my blog feel free to contact me by clicking the "Contact" Link at the top of my blog.
Stay GREEN!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
