Savvy Saturday

Hello bloggers,

I thought that I would start posting some great deals for here in the RGV. It may take me a while to get everything to even out, but bare with me. I plan on posting match-ups for HEB as well as great deals you can find at other local supermarkets. I went to Sun Harvest in McAllen during summer and grabbed some watermelons for like $.46 if my memory serves me right. So, lets see what I can do for you this week. Of course, HEB gets new ads and deals every Tuesday, so I might switch this post from Savvy Saturdays to Savvy Tuesdays... but doesn't sound as catchy!

First off I just read through my blog roll and saw that News Around the Blog found out that there will be plenty of inserts to go around. I don't subscribe to the Sunday paper, but my grandfather does and is always more than happy to offer the coupons to me. I can also get my hands on some at our local laundry mat when I go dry clothes on cloudy days... and this week has been a wet one for us.

I do most of my "grocery" shopping at HEB because they have lower prices than HEB and do most of my household & clothing shopping at Wal-Mart. I ONLY visit Targe, Walgreen & CVS when there are major steals and deals, not to mention CVS is like 25 minutes away! I usually have atleast one coupon not go through at HEB so I looked up HEB's coupon policy. Here is the latest one; HEB Coupon Policy, and here is an exert regarding HEB accepting two coupons:

Regarding the acceptance of manufacture and store coupons at the same time, we can take two coupons on one product, but only if one of the coupons is a “store coupon” designated by an S on the lower corner. Store Coupons can be scanned during the order, allowing for a Manufacturer’s Coupon to be scanned at the end of the order. If a coupon states redemption is restricted to one coupon per purchase, then we cannot accept an additional coupon on the item. Most in-ad coupons are manufacture coupons, designated by an M on the lower corner, and we would not be able to accept two coupons. Additionally, we can not accept multiple coupons that will result in a negative charge to the Customer. If there are no restrictions on either coupon, you can use two coupons on one item. If you had restriction free coupons, I apologize if you were not allowed to redeem them.

Second here are some great deals at HEB this week:

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
