Our Piggies LOVE Piggy Paint Review & Giveaway (9/21)

The first time I tried to paint my DDs toenails was when she was about 4 months old. My SIL had come to visit and I had her paint them while I was nursing, because I couldn't get DD to hold still any other time and wasn't "super mom" enough to paint them myself while nursing. That was the only time I had painted them again until this month and DD is now 16 months old. One of the reasons was not being able to have her still enough to paint them without getting polish EVERYWHERE and the other reason was I had this guilt even the first time I painted her nails, because I new how harsh and toxic the stuff really was. Yet, polish looks so darn cute!

After 12-months of torment I discovered Piggy Paint!! Now I can be at rest knowing my DD's piggies are perfectly polished yet it is non-toxic and "natural as mud". Piggy Paint is made from water and other natural ingredients so it will take a few coats to look fabulous and this can be done in a few sittings for toddlers. We were given the Candy Coated polish to review, which coincidentally matched my toe nail polish, so DD was excited to be just like Mama. She would come to me asking to have "pretties" on her toes and sometimes I would just add a coat to a few toes at a time. I did not blow dry them to make a chip resistant finish, so it chips and fades off as she scurries around throughout the week, but it's a fun activity again when we sit down to repaint them ! Older girls and adults will want to take the extra step to blow dry the polish if you want to be chip free for longer.

And Piggy Paint is not just for little ones, but is great for moms too! Whether you're pregnant and concerned about toxic fumes and materials, or just an eco friendly mama, piggy paint is a fun, safe polish for girls of all ages. Piggy Paint also has a safe, odorless, hypoallergenic nail polish remover (thankfully) with a safety cap, because my little houdini discovers if wherever I hide it and runs around the house with it. It is made especially for their polishes and a 30 second soak and wipes clean with a cotton ball.

We love our girl colors here at our house, but how fun would it be to get some orange and black polish for halloween or red and green for the holidays. And you'll want to follow Piggy Paint on Twitter and Facebook to be in the know about their monthly specials and sales.

Eating Right Kids - Looney Tunes lunch bag and goodies

loony-toons-logo

Check out this giveaway! We all know that we admit to feeding our kids pizza or chips as a snack or even breakfast sometimes. Well, what kids doesn't like Looney Toons (and moms too!)? They have a new line of nutritional pre-made meals! My Wee Review has done a review and Team Mom is offering one of her readers a Looney Toons Lunch Pack. CLICK HERE TO ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY

safeway-eating-rightThe boys both enjoyed their favorite Looney Tunes characters ushering them through lunch time; the food and the re-usable insulated lunch bag displayed Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Taz, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, Roadrunner, Marvin the
Martian and Daffy Duck. Included in the meal were a chewy chocolate covered granola bar, a fruit cup and a bottle of
apple juice. I should note here that Phoenix drank most of his apple juice and poured the last one third of it over his brother’s head, in retaliation of some unknown offense earlier in the day.

In an often confusing (and too hectic world) of kid’s schedules and nutrition, Warner Brothers Consumer Products is offering solutions with their quick pre-made meals that are focused on healthy eating. Their Eating Right Kids food products offer more than 60 items in breakfast foods, produce, portable meals, dairy, snacks, beverages and frozen entrees.

A very big thank you to Team Mom for taking on this project. Team Mom is a division of Child’s Play Communications, specialists in publicity and marketing communications for products and services designed for kids and moms.

Baby Burrito - Sling ($75)

logo

Babyburrito is a Montreal based company dedicated to the creation of modern baby accessories. Fashion designer Lianne Hogan has created a very trendy collection of blankets, changing pads, slings, hats, kimonos, sleep sacks and swaddle blankets.
sling

The sling is 100% cotton, and has a cute little front pocket which is ideal for your wallet, phone, etc.

Babywearing has been around for centuries and has many advantages for babies and their parents; it is comfortable and convenient for parents and allows for optimal growth and development of babies. I had our little guy in a sling for several hours and we both loved it.

On Saturday afternoon we attended a wedding and we were of course running very late so we had all of 20 seconds to figure out how to keep our little dude properly in the sling and it was far easier than I imagined. I put it over my shoulder, my husband helped put our little guy in and voila…that was it. He was cruising around the wedding, I was able to move around easily, our guy is now a little over 20 lbs and it can be tiring to hold him on my hip for an extended period of time, the sling distributes the weight and it doesn’t seem like you are carrying any weight at all. Hudson loved it, he was snuggled in close to me, he could see all the sights, and he even fell asleep!

The sling can be used in six different positions; Cradle Carry, Front Carry, Tummy to Tummy, Kangaroo Hold, Hip Carry and Back Carry. There is a full PDF on the website that gives excellent instructions on using each carry position. We have a chubby 6 month old and we found the hip carry to work the best for us thus far. Hudson and I would definitely recommend using a Babyburrito sling.

Zooni - Item of your choice

Well, I am very sorry to say this, but winter is just around the corner - cue the crying here . I am not a fan of winter. Getting all bundled up with layers of clothing in the freezing cold - I shiver just thinking about it. Is there anything that I do like about winter? It’s hard to come up with something, but being the fashionista I am, I always like a nice new pair of boots and a winter jacket. If I have to go out and bare the elements, I may as look good doing it. Another thing I like about winter, is the cute things Genevieve will get to wear as well. One item that I am looking forward to is the matching Zooni hat and mitt combo we received for review.

Zooni specializes in Mop Hats and M’uppet Mittens. The hats and mitts are all knitted however, it’s not the traditional knitted hat and mitts that you will get from your grandmother. They are all themed like monkeys, lions and flowers, and the hats are all shagged - just like a shag rug - so cute.

Zooni sent the flower power hat and mitts in size 12 - 24 months. The pink shag style hat with a little purple and pink flower is just adorable. It’s a little bit large for Genevieve’s 12 month old head, but once the snow begins to fall, she will be a little bit bigger and the hat should fit. The inside of the hat is lined with a pink fleece, it feels very soft, and should be extra warm in the winter. The matching Zooni mitts are a bright purple and have pink and purple flowers on them. They are just the right size for tiny hands. They are also knitted and have a fleece liner on the inside so the cold will not make it through.

All the hats and mitts at Zooni are adorable. They are sure to turn heads, and everyone will be wondering where you bought them from. They are available for newborns up until size 5. The mittens start at size 18 months - size 5.

Zooni is also socially responsible. Each month they co-sponsor events to “celebrate childhood”. They also partner and work closely with companies that celebrate life and the “child within”. I always feel better supporting companies that give back.

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
