Menu Plan Monday ~ Becipe Box & Giveaway ~

Another week means another Menu Plan! I love menu planning, it keeps me on track, it makes my grocery trips a lot shorter and saved me time. Don't you just love being in control.... lol.
This week I am preparing recipes from my recipe box! I collect recipes & cookbooks. But of course, I didn't pick just any recipes, I picked recipes that I haven't tried before and recipies that would require very little or nothing for me to buy.
Over at Orgjunkie.com another Menu Plan mom, Stolen Moments Menu Planning, is giving away a great service to help out a family with their menu plan and I wanted to do the same. It was so hard for me when I started because of several reasons. Money was one, hubby was another and learning how to make ahead and coordinate was driving me nuts. Plus, I also use coupons, so that was another hurdle.
So, I want to help out another family new to menu planning by sending the winner two weeks of dinner menus that go with with she has on hand. And her pick at my coupons HERE.
To enter, just leave a comment telling me what your biggest hurdle is and I will pick one on Saturday, October, 3rd. (Open to the US only)
So, without further adieu, here is this weeks menu plan: I have choosen to only plan dinners this week because I have lots to do and I don't have many recipes for breakfast with ingredients I have on hand, and only M-F because we have birthdays and baby showers to go to!

Monday: Grilled Chicken Pasta Primavera with Garlic butter sauce

Tuesday: Shreaded Chicken Burrito Casserole w/mexican rice

Wednesday: Beef n Been Bueno Chalupas

Thursday: Beef stew w/corn on the cob

Friday: Three meat pizza with mac n cheese (homemade!)

  2. Hi thanks for stopping by my blog! Its so exciting when kitchen staples go on sale so cheap, isnt it! Do you have a stop & shop near you?? Thats were they are on sale, ground beef is cheap this week to, so how do you make your meat mac & cheese?? I have a few recipes on my food blog too, but only like 5---haa haa---that blog is a work in progress, www.familymealsonabudget.com
The roasted chicken recipe is great, the lemon makes the meat so flavorful and tender. My husband loves it! Then I can get like 4 more meals out of one chicken!!

  3. What a great giveaway idea.
I've also received so many money saving grocery shopping ideas from the fellow MPM participants.
We're so tired of eating chicken so I was looking forward to MPM today. There's lots of inspiration from the participants.
I'm also looking for ways to save since my husband is underemployed and I'm unemployed.

Ungrateful during Thanksgiving?

Hubby made me cry on Thanksgiving.... The usual share what you're thankful for, he just went all out talking about how we had one of the toughest years and we were apart from each other for six months and how much he missed us and it just sucked. Ohhhh, the waterfalls!! But yeah, it was the longest year ever. Speaking of Thanksgiving.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Reminds me of something that's been on my mind....

We just moved out of the valley and guess what?! The worst part moving to a new place was not the moving. Before we moved I scoped out our neighborhood, grocery stores, parks and I joined several mom groups. I knew negative Nancy’s were bound to share their troubles in Facebook groups but I’ve never heard so many complaints in one day.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t like when people complain. I just think to myself, “Did you really have to share that?” or about an easy solution to that complaint. There would have been a better way to spend your time than writing a n…
